Interesting question : First issue if you are old enough to care for it ,that means not spilling drinks in the key board ,dropping it or any of the mishaps adults frequently do . I guess you are ready at any age . I would certainly install protections to prevent adult sites from jumping up. After that its common sense for its use . I think if your toys survive in good condition ,then your lap top will as well. I would remove age as a qualifier and make responsibility the deciding factor.

I think that depends on how mature the child is,and if they respect exspencive things.I'd say at less 12 myself.Have a Great day
