I can't imagine a truck driver doing that, for much of what that person does is monitoring the truck. You have a low air pressure alarm for the brakes, some trucks have engine alarms...and you just need to be aware of all that's going on around you. Over the years, you learn to pick up a lot on what is going on from the sound of the truck. I also believe it is illegal in commercial vehicles.

But also, if you worry that much of the sound within a cab of a truck...maybe you should get another vocation!  Some just goes with the territory!

pooey,Why would you want to wear ear plugs? unless its a very old truck the newer ones are pretty close to riding in a car as far as comfort and noise levels. I know for a fact that our 98  Freightliner is a much better ride than my old 90 VW Jetta LOL
