    Pray.

warmur have you heard any rumors about an earthquake today?  I just hope that i am not in San Francisco's financial district when one occurs.  Too many skyscrapers.  Even tho many of the buildings are new and many retrofitted.  I use to work in the Embarcadero One building and was there when an earthquake occurred.  Talk about scary.  I was on the 32 second floor.  Called a personnel friend later and told him to please get me a job on the ground.  He did and I started working right down the street in a one story building with loft for upstairs.  I was working there when the 89 Loma Preitta quake occurred.  I thought I was a goner.  I was in a different building brushing my teeth getting ready to go to my dentist on the 22nd floor of Embarcadero One.  Buildings shook to high hell.  My friends that still worked on the 32 floor said they thought they were goners the way all the furniture slid across the rooms.  My advice is don't be around tall buildings and get the heck outside, because most pepple die in earthquakes that get trapped from something falling on them.  An expert came to my job and said that if there were a major quake in San Francisco that there would be 6 feet of glass on the ground in the financial district and very few would survive that.  Also don't park under the tall buildings that have parking lots.  Recently heard on radio that those building will collaspe because the garage makes it an unstable foundation.  I heard that after just parking in one and trying to get out of downtown San Francisco..  Never again for me. San Francisco has serveral parking lots with no buildings attached, but you have to walk further. Also pray you're in the right place at the right time if one hits.

Note all safe places in your area such as under sturdy tables and desks close to sturdy walls, away from mirrors, windows or any breakable objects, go to open spaces, away from tall buildings, trees, telephone and electrical lines, street lights, lamp posts and anything that may collapse during an earthquake.

After the shaking stops, change your underwear, then help those that may need help.
