I remember hiring a Mazda RX7 in Honolulu, the left hand drive was no problem but driving on the right side of the road was a nightmare, as i was used to driving on the left side of the road in a right hand vehicle, i had no problems out on the open road, but in Honolulu it was a different matter, i was forever deciding which side of the road i should take when turning left or right. the thing to remember is the white centre line is always on the drivers side, i don't know how i would have coped in Los Angeles , because of the traffic.

This can be a problem. My car has the steering wheel on the left and I drive on the right side of the road (in France). When I go to the UK with my car, I have to drive on the left. Conditioned refexes mean that it sometimes happens that I start off driving on the left. The sudden rush of adrenaline makes me realise my error.
A suggestion has been made that Brits, Aussies, Kiwis etc change to driving on the right. To get used to the idea they could drive on the left, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and on the right the other days.

I have driven army vehicles that were right hand drive and never had any problem. Of course I was a lot younger so it may be different now.
We had USA Jeeps and Studebaker 5 tonners. The Studebakers were our " Gun tractors" ie: used to tow the Anti Aircraft guns.
Earlier we had the "Blitz Buggies"
