    perfection jh....

I studied Interpersonal Communications one semester at community college. The instructor divided the class into four groups of 8.  We had various group assignments to do throughout the semester, mostly as skits or one-act plays.  I tend to be bossy (yes, I know, hard to believe), but managed to keep quiet waiting for someone to take the lead.  NO ONE stepped up to the plate and soon it was two days til presentation. Desperately, I offered the FIRST suggestion to the group. There were 3 guys who were negative, but the other 4 were good to go.  Those 3 guys snorted and bucked EVERYTHING the whole semester and were particularly obnoxious to me, and, yes, I ended up being the "leader". Those 3 guys (Albert, Noel, and Jose) were just such pains in the ass that I've always preferred to NOT  collaborate much on tasks, projects, or assignments.  Just tell me what is supposed to get done and I'll take it from there.
P.S. Our final was 1/2 written exam and 1/2 final presentation. The other three groups all said it was unfair to have presentations be 1/2 the final grade.  The teacher asked "Why?" and they all said, "Because Bob/PKB isn't in our group!"  Put that in your pipes and smoke it, Albert, Noel, and Jose!

I PREFER TO DIRECT OR BE IN CHARGE OF A PROJECT (VERSES WORKING AS A GROUP OR WITH A CO-CHAIRMAN)  AND DELEGATE RESPONSIBILITIES TO OTHER MEMBERS OF THE GROUP. THAT MEANS I PREFER TO BE ALONE IN LEADING A GROUP FOR A PROJECT OR ASSIGNMENT.

So, what do you like to do on your own PKB, or am I missing something in your response?
    robertgrist

    Go girl! You’re a winner!
    Bob/PKB

I'm not really good at working with people on collaborative projects. I'm too bossy.

I,m sure there,s something we could do alone,( I,m not speaking as the Royal "WE" of course )..KOTF.

She would prefer to do a "project" alone (without any help), having been subjected to a lack of co-operation, when she was forced to collaborate!

Oh, sorry Bob...I could let you speak for yourself, I guess....LOL!!!!!
    Bob/PKB

Ducka, you are exactly right. I thought it was pretty obvious; as I've said before: great minds think alike. (that'd be you and me)

Glad to help. ha ha :)
    Shootah

Sometimes it's really amazing what you pick up out of those communications courses, especially regarding the signifcance of utilizing the strategies involved in interacting with the audience.
    Bob/PKB

Shootah, you are so right. I should've taken much positive from that course, but I dwelt on those 3 negative axxwipes for years. FINALLY, in retrospect, I have learned better how to function in a cooperative, collaborative setting, and, knowing my strengths and weaknesses, can actually be a contributor without being a dictator.

    Go for a walk..

Completely agree. A most PRECIOUS alone time, for many reasons.

Watch a DVD, i don't like interruptions whilst watching a movie.

    Bob/PKB

No kidding. At a movie, my friend is very quiet. At home, she just talks while the movie is playing. If her husband comes into the room, he just starts right up and is a bit hard of hearing....Sheesh!
    michmar118

Totally!! If I can't watch a movie through entirely without any interruptions, then I prefer to not watch it at all at that time. Not worth the loss of meaning from the movie and and the aggravation of being repeatedly interrupted. My husband is the worst about that and still doesn't "get it" with all his talking throughout.
    bulletman

I really know what you mean, MsBob & Michelle, i am forever pressing pause, until i have forgotten the story line so i give up until i am completely alone, peace at last to watch the movie.:)

clean my teeth and put on my make up

I like to work alone & do things my way.Sometimes help is necessary because of the nature of the work (Heavy). I'm pretty head strong & get into arguments about how to go about things especially with people who don't know s**t from shinola.

    Bob/PKB

    I understand this completely.

Prey. Public prayer is so ostentatious, please stop. Prey privately…in a closet….quietly. Preying in public is like a rich man who throws money into a crowd to get them on their knees before them. It’s rude.

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you..
    michmar118

    I agree. Private prayer is much more personal and substantive and effective. Public prayer can be more staged and less effective and much less inspiring. BUT, if it is sincere public prayer, then it it is a better way to go than NO prayer at all. :-}

    STALK

    Ed1530

    Oh dear.
    Bob/PKB

Yeah, every time I bring someone along, they blow my cover. :D

So..uh..this is a new past time? Eewwwwwww Probably nothing to joke about. I've known some who were "stalked"....traumatizing.
    TSC

Its a joke, get with the program. :)

    Reading and writing.

    michmar118

ABSOLUTELY!!! I choose to read everyday at work during my lunch hour to wind down and escape for a few minutes and it never fails to amaze me, no matter how much I am into my book, how many people are so far removed as to not recognize that you are doing something that doesn't warrant interrupting except when really necessary, and then to try to start a conversation about how cold it got last night. Honestly??! Get a clue..........

If it was smething l prefered to do alone, why would l tell anyone l prefered to do it at all??.

Maybe you would have to say..."Get lost now"?

Exercise!!  Many "experts" say to exercise with a buddy to keep you interested, but I find it a huge distraction.  If we are not on the same wavelength exercise-wise I am wasting my time and energy. I am out there for the maximum results and if I feel I have to keep up a conversation with someone, maximum isn't happening and then it's not worth my time and effort.  It's too difficult to gear up everyday for real exercise, after working all day, to not get the most out of your efforts.  I prefer to do it alone to challenge myself, and then call my friend later to catch up.

I agree with your (above) "reading" comment. I guess people don't think that reading is important, so you can just stop and "talk to me"! I have had the same experience.
Exercise...me too...I cannot exercise and talk at the same time. I find myself just going through the motions and not even breaking a sweat. I need to concentrate on the work out!
    tabber

michmar i feel like that too. i like to exercise alone.

Are you swallowing your words? Shootah, that is an interesting, although extremely repulsive image..lol..

I like going to the movies alone &  sometimes with others, depending on the movie.  I like going to restaurants alone & reading a book, but I go with friends and family sometimes. I like shoping alone or with my mom or better half.  I have a couple of hobbies which requires a lot of alone time.  Plus I am kind of a loner.  However I am friendly with people when I'm with people.

    piss off!!!! LOL.

I don't mind going to movies and restaurants alone but if I ever do, and then tell someone, I get the questions. "Well, why didn't you call me...I would have gone with you. Call me next time..don't go alone" blah blah blah I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes to do that. The only reason that I don't do it, is because it seems to make "others" feel bad. Go figure. I'm with you on this one, tabber.
    michmar118

    I think we think alike...........................

Taking long walk is one.  The other, I cannot say publicly.

    akaqaing, reading, sudoku...

I f I have a project in mind usually work alone, read & pray alone, also sleep alone, my wife doesn't want me to sleep with her, cause I disturb her sleep from me wiggling to much. so now have my own room to sleep since the kid are gone.I am marry but still alone?

    Shootah

Hm...that is more common than many people realize!

LOL  You don't wanna know what I like to do when I'm alone. But, I don't do it very much anymore   :- \

Cry in my beer. I'm so bored.

Please don't cry ed. I'll have one with you.
