              Why can't a woman also be a lady, and a man a gentleman ? I think qualities that are preferable to the alternate in both

                You don't need an education to become a man and a woman.  You need good education and class to be ladies and gentlemen.

                  My education was 8th grade & then 4 years of night school.(Trade school).I consider myself a gentleman if not a scholar.

                  Being educated is never predicated upon going to school. Being educated also means to have your life enriched through learning from whatever means that can make you a better person.
