I use both and there is not much difference between the two. I must say that I have noticed many people having problems with Yahoo mail this past year. You might want to give Gmail a try. All three are web based, meaning they are not stored on your computer and can be easily accessed from any computer which is connected to the internet.
To open an account, you merely go to their web site and create your account. Choose a password that will be hard for others to guess and DON'T forget it.
