    how to get rid of toothache if pregnant

    niece is pregnant and has bad toothache. wants to know what will help since she can't take certain medications

    Going to the dentist is the thing to do - it is free here in the UK for pregnant women and encouraged as pregnancy does have an effect on the teeth. Usually drugs are not systemic so will not affect the foetus.

    placing a whole clove (gently) on the gum, or rubbing with clove oil (preferably) should help deaden the pain.  Never heard of cloves having negative effects on fetus'...would be good to call a hospital and ask first.

    Clove oil will kill the pain. Available at some pharmacies and most health food stores..........
