      It is not just children who can contract head lice... it is just because of the way they socialize and congregate in schools.

        Adults get headlice too... Children are going to a breading ground everyday in  public school so they are more likely to contract it...

            My 68 yr.old friend  had gotten head lice from her 13 yr old grand-daughter. It cost her a 1000 dolllars to delouse her self  and granddaughter. Alot of work at home washing clothes.
