    Please, explain to me the difference between "two-thousand-twelve" and "Twenty-twelve". I want to understand the detailed difference.

    There is no difference. they both mean the same. It's just how one reads the numbers visually. Some read them in math terms (all numbers working together) and  others read them  as two sets of numbers.
