why after general anesthesia I have memory loss ?

I had two surgeries under general anesthesia.
And after each of them I noticed a marked decrease in concentration, of thought and remembering recent things.
After the second operation I was in acute respiratory failure for 2 days, while the first operation I was very difficult intubated  and I woke up during anesthesia.

Ask The doctor or Anesthesiologist if they gave you Larazapam (generic name) or  Atavan (brand name).

They commonly use this medication to purposely induce amisea in patients  that have had a hard time with sergury,or unpleasant  experiences comming out of surgury.

Its  mostly used as as anti-epelectic  along with Dilantin to control siezures.

Also as its an anticonvolsant / muscle relaxor  I know it causes forgetfulness and what I call "Stuck on stupidness.  "
