That sounds more like a question for a Chevrolet dealership mechanic with experience, they know the different engines in regards to differences and similarities. When most of these companies make a six cylinder engine for example, they usually make it so that it is useable in all their models utilizing a non-specialized six cylinder engine. The only time that concept changes, is when they run out and have to resort to using something else out of necessity. You'll occasionally see an example of this, when the specific date of manufacture within a year, is relevant when ordering replacement parts.
