how do I convert a slow cooker recipe to a cooking in a roaster oven?

I'm cooking stew for 20 and need to use the roaster oven instead of the crock pot.

If it is meat, I would brown it first and cook at a low to medium temp in the oven loosely covered with foil, it should take about 1/4 of the time
