Scamming means to take advantage of someone, usually financially. To scam a divorced woman (or any woman, or man) emotionally means to become a friend or lover to that person. When the trust is secure, the scammer begins to bilk the person financially, often ingratiating himself into one's will. He can literally take everything "in the name of love".
It's deplorable. Stealing money and items of monetary value is bad enough. Taking someone's time, and the emotional, psychological destruction that follows, with false affection is unforgivable.
Divorced women seem to be the easiest prey for a number of reasons.
