      Chisel, hammer and elbow grease. It's a hard job and no fun. Consider hiring someone.

        Using the correct tile cement you can put new tiles on top. Removal if the tiles are on plasterboard ( sheetrock US)  is likely to be more trouble than it is worth as you will damage the p/board.
