    I found this ... Rainier is not on the list... it's just bubbling on the inside.

    it is an inactive volcano but may become active at anytime.it lies dormant until an eruption occurs then it is considered an active volcano although some scientists may disagree.any volcano could be active even though there is no activity that may not be seen to the naked eye..do not underestimate any inactive volcano..lol..there may be activity underground but will not be able to see above ground..ty..ty..tyvm..
