    A 100 watt light bulb consumes 1 KWH in one hour, you do the math. 


    The average cost for 1 KWH is only around 8C in the US.


    That is why the new government required Mercury filled bulbs will save ENERGY, BUT will cost you MORE MONEY to use.


    A 100 watt incandescent bulb cost less than 1/3 as much as a 100 watt the Mercury filled bulbs, that require a hazardous waste disposal, that will cost you even more money when it burns out
