I would hope that any mother would always have some sort of a plan to protect her child. I don't understand why any single women allow themselves to be that vulnerable but don't seem to think of the ramifications it will have on our children. There are women's shelters for you and your son to go to. Cancel the companies you have your name on if you can and get your son out of it. In the shelter they will help get you hooked up with help and probably help you find your independence and some counselling that both you and your son might need. Learn from this that it is you your son has to be able to count on. You don't have to live with a man in order to survive in this world. Don't ever put yourself or your son in a position like this again. Your not teaching him a very good lesson in life.

You should also attempt speaking to a caseworker from the Department of Health and Human Services to see what emergency resources might be available to you for both short and long term. Regardless of whether the state might be able to directly help in an instantly occuring situation, they are all trained social workers who know the resources and where to direct you. There are safety nets out there for woman with children. You can also inquire with the town or city you reside in.
