Yes, but I once re-gifted something back to the giver (OOOPS)

Maybe tag items for re-gifting with givers name?? I think re-gifting is perfectly fine. If it's an item in excellent, non-used condition, still newish and is something of value that you know you won't use, why not let someone else who will use it get some use from it!
Yes I have. It pays to check manufactured dates.

Hahaha, Clu! I was working the return desk 2 days ago at the major home improvement store I work at and an older couple brought in an electric space heater that they said was hardly blowing any hot air, and they had received it as a Christmas gift the day before. Well, it obviously hadn't been used and the box was in good shape, but the store sticker placed on the product prior to initial shipping to the store from manufacturer was dated 2007. RE-GIFT, big time! I didn't let them know that, just let them pick out another heater. So, yes it does pay, especially on anything with moving parts or is to be eaten.
That was so sweet that you let them do that! some folks would have said too bad so sad! Thanks from me on the older couples behalf!
