The "today I will marry my best friend" should be saved for the wedding day either in their vows or as a quote under a picture of the couple on the front cover or inside the front cover of the wedding day program...However, the invitation could read something like Jane Doe and John Blank wish to be best friends and partners for the rest of their lives Pleas join them & their parent (If they wish to name their parents here's where you would name them) As they join their hearts in Marriage on June 10,2012!!!  Wedding Ceremony Church by the sea, 1234 church la, seaside,VT Reception to follow immediately after under the tents!!!! ETC... this of course is an informal invitation but could be made more formal easily.  Cheers to the couple!!! You are very nice to be doing this for them!

TODAY isn't going to work in the invitation.  It certainly will be lovely in the wedding vows, if the bride and groom are writing their own.  I imagine the official could work them in nicely, too, though.  
As for an invitation:     My best friend, (name) and I are to be married on (date).
