Why do people think they have the right or intellect to tell me how to vote ?

As many have said we are here to hear differing opinions. That's all.

You might want to stay away from the political threads if you get upset like this. If you are an Obama supporter, I can well understand why people are telling you not to vote for him. This is just an opinion, that's all. The same as those people "telling" you how to vote. All opinions that you do not have to follow. I do not see the problem here.

The head of the Democrat party would do likewise for the Democrat candidate. I've heard President Obama ask people to vote for him. You find that strange ???? Why ??? Dark Ages ?? Do they think that, or are they simply trying to have a discussion about a topic that interests them and (obviously) you?

Doesn't it make life much more interesting when you are able to have lively discussions with people, agreeing or disagreeing? Personally, I can hotly disagree with someone and still like them a lot! As far as voting, it still is a secret ballot, so I'm quite sure that you will be able to mark your X, whereever you like!

The secret ballot hasn't slipped my old mind.And yes discussion seems to be the quickest method of finding out who or what your dealing with. And I do find it some what interesting.Thanks for sharing that.

There are three dangerous topics 1) politics 2) religion 3) sex....because people believe what they believe and MANY will try to convince you that there way is the ONLY RIGHT WAY... just tell people you do not discuss politics and walk away if they insist on talking about it!!!!

Everyone has an opinion, and its often unfortunate some choose to inflict this strongly on others,I usually avoid confrontational debates on politics, I don't however mind discussing issues proposed, or politics in a calm and reasonable manner, we often discuss government issues at work, and at the pub over a beer.

BEER! I,m there. Calmly is the proper way-of coarse. When folks try to change history to fit their stories.I will not care for it much. I have never had a knock down over anything political. All is fine. I'm still putting nick names with the less than civil.I know short term memories & the 60's may have been a bad mix.

Some of those people would be Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Greta and Geraldo, and that's just the conservative bunch known nationwide. I get sick of them and I'm a conservative. All the yelling and butting in they do with their "guests" just drives up the wall. It's the only thing my mom has on TV when I visit....which is why I don't visit too often! :(
valR: My 3 sons are definitely handsome in my eyes (sexy in the eyes of their girlfriends and wannabes). I'm now in contact and good terms with all three, and have started seeing my granddaughters. Happy New Year!
