      Go out on the ice (make sure the ice is safe) bore a hole in the ice and drop your line in. Dress warm, bring a tent or big box to sit in out of the wind, bring a heater (put it on something so it does not melt the ice) bring hot beverage and a seat to keep you off the ice and wait, wait, wait.........
