APPLESAUCE CINNAMON ORNAMENTS
4 oz. cinnamon
Acrylic paints
4 yards 1/8 inch ribbon
10 tbsp. applesauce
Sm. brushes
Put cinnamon and applesauce in a large bowl, blend with a spoon. Knead mixture into a ball. It should have consistency of a thick cookie dough or play dough. It should roll out without cracking. If it is too dry, add more applesauce, 1 tablespoon at a time.
Divide dough into 2 sections and roll each section into a 1/4 inch sheet. If dough sticks, sprinkle surface with cinnamon. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Punch a hole in each for hanging.
Slip ornaments onto baking sheet with spatula and bake at 200 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Check frequently. If ornaments cook too long, the edges will curl. Remove to a wire rack and cool. Decorate with acrylic paints. Store in tissue-lined box in a cool, dry place.
