Pakistan holidays can be divided into holidays of historical importance, in both the national and the international spheres, and the religious holidays. Pakistan Holidays refer to the national holidays of the country. The list of the national holidays of Pakistan are as follows:
Pakistan Day - 23rd of March: On this day the Pakistan Resolution (1940) is commemorated. Yome- e – Pakistan is the local name in Urdu
Independence Day - 14 th of August: On this day, the independence of Pakistan is celebrated all over the country. Yom-e-Istiqlal is the local name of this holiday in Urdu
Labour Day - 1st May: May Day or Labor Day is celebrated throughout the country on this day. In Urdu this day is called Yom-e- Karegar
Defence of Pakistan Day - 6th September: Yome-e- Difa is the local name of this holiday. This day is celebrated as the Defence Day
Anniversary of the Death of Qaid- i- Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah - 11th September: In Urdu this day is called Yom-e-Wafat-e-Quaid-e-Azam
Birthday of a National Poet, Allama Iqbal - 9th November: The Urdu name of this day is Yom -e Viladat-e Muhammed Iqbal
Christmas Day for Christians on the 25th of December. This day is also celebrated as the birthday of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In Urdu this day is called as Yom-e-Viladat-e-Quaid-e-Azam. Chistmas is referred in Urdu as Eid- ul-Milad-ul-Masseh
