The revised editions now call it a sin. Originally it was an abomination (one of a list of many moral codes for thousands of years ago), the same as eating shell fish or wearing clothes of mixed cloth or thread or something silly. Wings insects with 4 feet were abominations. Eating pork was an abomination. But prejudices within the religion rewrote the verses, took out abomination and changed it to sin. So it is now called a sin in quite a few REVISED editions. I guess God came back when no one was looking and rewrote the bible yet again.

Thank you for answering. My church, as well as others (some denominational, others, not) are so sure that homosexuality is SUCH A SIN. I still don't have a "Where" in the bible it says this! The elders and pastor at my church dodge the question. WHERE inthe bible does it say ANYTHING close to ti being a si??

“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

1 Corinthians 6:9, "Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind,.... By carnal knowledge of them, and carnal copulation with them, and mixing bodies in like manner: this is the sin commonly called sodomy..."

***Please note however that the word homosexuality was not invented until the 1860's, so yet again, God must have come down when no one was looking and added it to the bible.

Second note, Jesus never called homosexuality a sin.

"It should be pointed out that the sayings and teachings of Jesus make up the core of Christian belief. Homosexuality, however, is never addressed by Jesus in any of the canonic Gospels. What Jesus does talk about over and over again is oppression. Whether it was of the poor by the rich or of the powerless by the powerful."

The biggest problem lies in the fact the the Christians continue to mix abomination with sin. The two are not the same. They are distinctly different. Abomination was a moral code of the time. It covered sex, health, cleanliness, illness, medicines, religion, money, food, animals (for food or burden), all things attributed to man and governed by man according to religious laws and laws of man. Sin is breaking God's laws, His commandments. Homosexuality is not listed in His commandments.
