Universal Healthcare. Isn't it about time?

A recent question was asked about how to secure free health care by a cancer patient. It would have been completely inappropriate to bring up the subject of Universal Healthcare to a person in desperate need, so I do so here.

Is this a Right versus Left issue ?

Ever one in the US HAS health CARE, including those in this country illegally and those that do NOT HAVE health INSURANCE.

If you noticed in the recent healthcare debate the always said there are 30,000,000, Americans who do not have health INSURANCE, never did they say health CARE

There are millions in the US that can afford to buy health INSURANCE, even  the very rich, but for whatever reason choose not to buy health INSURANCE

There is a federal law, known as the Hill Burton Act that REQUIRES every Hospital or Doctor that accepts Medicare Reimbursement to provide the SAME Quality of care to those that do not have health INSURANCE.

That person will then be billed by the Hospital or Doctor.   If they are poor or indigent the Hospital or Doctor must except what ever they can afford to pay as payment in full

Medicare pays Hospitals and Doctors, in a given area, a predetermined amount EVERY Quarter for everyone one in that area who is eligible for Medicare or Medicaid, regardless of whether they receive care or not, to pay for the uninsured.  There is no Medicare bill sent o you after you receive care, only for your deductibles

The irony of Obama Care is it REQUIRES EVERYONE to buy heath Insurance from the very rotten health insurance companies that he said were the core of our health Insurance problem   ;)

Jack: And whats so rotten about our health insurance companies ????

Nothing, but if one listened to Obama and the Dims during the debate on national health care at the time, according to them it was those rotten Insurance companies that were at the heart of all of the problem!

Personally I like my health care provider. I have a "Medicare Advantage" plan that provides me far more than Medicare, for a Zero premium

Its not a  right or left issue to me.

Its a  How DO WE PAY FOR IT ISSUE ????

Universal Health Care is NOT FREE.   My guess is it would  be  paid for  the same way our income tax system (USA) works.    It has a graded structure and the more you earn the more you pay.    So some will pay little or nothing and  some will pay most or all the cost. .

Why does this person have NO health insurance. ???/  If you know.

    Jack Large.  I'm with you...

Oh ya as long as one is born into royalty or lucky enough to have a nice plan-I believe they are well within their GOD given right to enjoy it. & not be expected to pay for dim witted morons insurance. You all make a good point-if people can't land a good job w/good insurance-F em all. They obviously made their bed out of laziness, let em rot.Long as we go to church & have good Christan beliefs we will inherit the earth. God speed my friends!
