Agent Orange is a defoliant. The military sought to produce a 20 mile wide DMZ across Vietnam and burn the strip with napalm. Congress withdrew funding after having starting the process of defoliation and this left the military with a huge contracted supply of these compounds with no where to use them. So Agent Orange was sold off to every state in the US as ditch bank weed killer and bases globally, other militaries and governments for use here and elsewhere to control weeds on playgrounds, parks for defoliation along the Amazon etc. It was even used in the Chesapeake Bay as it was found effective in killing off water weeds there and in the Indian Ocean near India and so forth. It took some time to realize the effects of this and reporting on it has been sparse. A link between the use of AO and the spawning cycles of fish was my area of interest just when a droning hysteria was growing over its effects on children in school yards, veterans of Vietnam and that put the even greater picture of what had happened out of public interest. Michael Moore would be busy on this story for years just putting together what happened and the public is now being poisoned by cracking in the pursuit of gas. I just prey that God will remove the anti-environmentalists from the planet before we are all killed by their drive for money at any cost.
