I am surprised to the lack of interest, further answers, comments to this fact and bringin it up again. as a new Q. My hope was that someone else would suggest that: "the questions never answered in 30 days should be deleted". Most of them were asked by one time askers anyway. All they do, they make the akaQA traffic llook ike some of the California freeways...

Perhaps if people would stop bringing up 4, 5,6, 7 8, 9 months old questions to answer over and over again and hit the unanswered side more, then we might not have such a back log?
Just so you know, I do remove old unanswered questions but only those that are time sensitive. Like ones for a particular date. Other unanswered questions may still get answered and be a benefit to someone else looking for the same answer. Let me ask you, how much time do you dedicate to Googling for answers you do not know just to find an answer for someone seeking one? On average, how many questions do you answer in a day? I answer 100-200 per day and Google the answer for the most of them. Most members here do not like to Google so they just by pass the questions they do not know the answer to. This is all volunteer, no one has to make a job out of it or spend time searching answers to questions they find boring. The biggest thing the administrators want from the members here is for them to have fun. : )

Based on my figures 80% of the questions come from uniteligable sources, that leaves 20% overall, so if you took the complete 100% of all questions deducted 10% then add %20 plus gas,time and millage that would leave just 10% unanswerd and the other 90% would go to the office of the cold case files..
