Silent Night by Bing Crosby was still the # 1 all time selling of all time. I'm not sure where it would be now. Little Drummer Boy is very special to me.

Cause lil Drummer boy is so humble. His wealth is in his drum and his talent even though it is a simple talent. This is all he has to give. He plays it to the very best of his ability because he knows how important that particular moment was. As it turns out that is all Jesus wants. The spirit, purity, purpose and intensity of his heart and soul is given to Jesus as he goes about his simple tune. Lil drummer boy only want is to make Jeasus happy!! Li drummer Boy is like the incon for mankind to true believers. This just might make him being the poster for what is right for believers. Non believers has to respect Little Drummer for the spirit to do good for his fellow man in such a caring and humble way!!! This song has a deep message but I only have to scratch the surface to get it.

Just watched the original "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas", 1966, tonight and was especially drawn to the songs, more so than ever in the past.....kind of funny, then to read your comments! :->

Go tell it on the Mountain is one I didn't associate as a Christmas song but you are abosutely justified with your choice. They should give it much more exposure this time of the year. We are about the same age also now that I looked you up. Please See my comment to Benthere if you have time on silent night.

We do have a lot in common Mat. About the same age and I spent 31 years in Transportation myself. I drove a city bus in Dallas for about eight years of my career while I was there. We have something else in common. I JUST LOVE GRANDMOTHER GOT RAN OVER SONG TO!!! It makes my wife a littlt ticked off too. This makes me do a little jig to it which doesn't score any points with her for sure.

"Little Drummer Boy", "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" and "Away In A Manger". In that order. The "Little Drummer Boy" version that the group "Chicago" plays/sings is the most beautiful I've ever heard. I believe it's their album number 25. Definitely worth a listen, lots of gorgeous horns playing.
