My ex got me to sign a paper when we separated and later divorced, that I wouldn't go after his pention. He had his friend come over as a witness who has now passed away.I never got a copy of it or had a witness. This was done it 1983.I think I signed it because he was always threatening to take the kids away from me.Is this paper legal,or can I fight it?
If this can't be answered cpould you give me a name of where I can go to get the answer?

My advice would be contact a lawyer for the laws governing this in your State, but I'm inclined to agree with Deejay, based upon length of time, because alotta civil claims are bound by statue of limitations and the fact you have advice us of your willfulness to agree to signing this agreement, so you've probably told others as well. An agreement doesn't require a notarized signature, it's helpful but not required. Then there's the claim mental anguish/duress, but the length of time combined with no witnesses to your claim, I really don't think you'll succeed but only a court and Judge can decide this. GOOD LUCK!
