http://www.lifeline.gov/lifeline_Consumers.html In the USA
Are you aware that there is a federal US program called "LifeLine" service. In the USA, all phone companies have to offer this program to those who are disabled and living on SSDI or SSI. It gives you up to a $14.00 credit each month on your local phone bill. It is only good on one phone line per person, per household. The bill must also be in the name of the person who is disabled. This is a program that most phone companies will not tell you about when you apply for phone service with them even if you tell them you are disabled. You have to ask them to send you a application for "LifeLine" service. Every little bit of savings sure will help you, that is for sure.
