house arrest is best described as  a cetain length of time of being confined to the  home with incredable amounts of restrictions and boredom wearing a electronic bracelet connected to a tattletale box  while you hope the judge will change his or hers mind and grant you probation. Good luck hope this helps we're all counting on YA!

Shock probation benefits the state as well as the inmate. It is a cost-saving alternative to lengthy incarceration and is believed to reduce recidivism. Keeping an inmate in the system any longer than 90 or 180 days not only costs more money but increases the risk of creating a hardened criminal.   http://www.lawyers.com/ask_a_lawyer/q_and_a_archive/view_archive/index.php?QID=08-JUL-04&site=812

In justice and law, house arrest (also called home confinement, home detention, or electronic monitoring) is a measure by which a person is confined by the authorities to his or her residence. Travel is usually restricted, if allowed at all. House arrest is a lenient alternative to prison time or juvenile-detention time.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_arrest
