      I think it is learned,some foods when i was a kid i didn't like, but like now e.g mushrooms,peanut butter.

        I'm a "texture" eater and my housemate hates me for having taught him to pay attention to the texture of the food he eats..........

          I sure get that jh..I do not like coconut but I have become aware in recent years, that it is not the "taste" but only the "texture" that I dislike...if it's very fine and I don't SEE it, it's not too bad...lol

          I believe it is learned.  I now love spinach but wouldn't even try it, as a kid.  My father hated it and would turn up his nose at it.  That was good enough for me...it must taste awful, if Dad wouldn't eat it.
