My OL uses hers all the time to read books. The books are available from many free sources and Amazon.com of course. Kindles are wi-fi enabled so you could just have a Kindle and go to any location that has wi-fi, like a court house or resturant etc.

Kindle is preloaded to goto Amazon store…menue opens to "go to the store” that opens the link. Kindle calls the connection system “Whisper link” and I have not seen it affect my on-line speed. Amazon Help is highly rated and prompt usually. Kindles will read PDF formatted material and perhaps others too. Amazon has free books and there are public libraries on line with free PDF books. I’m not sure if there is a converter for other files or not. If AkaQA were available as a PDF/Kindle reader file The following would expand. Downloads are very fast and books are also available from Amazon that have been purchased even if no on your kindle at the time. Sandy has over 100 books on her Kindle. Most of her books were priced under $1.00 and many were free.
