      Because they can not take baths when they need to get clean. Their mothers licked them to clean them so they do the same for themselves. It's what they know.

           Dog 3 Dogs lick them selves to clean them selves but if there is exsesive licking get the Vet to check this out as it could be something else good luck and welcome to the site

                  nature has provided that for dogs,cats,lions etc That's how they clean their bodies and young ones.

                        An old guy was sitting at a bus stop with his dog just having a rest.


                        The dog was enthusiastically licking it's private parts.


                        A young guy waiting for a bus commented,"jeez,I wish I could do that".


                        The old guy replied," Well,you can if you like but I'd pat him first if I were You".
