To find the price increase from 1606.2 to 2210.2...........

0.37604283........move decimal two places to the right  >  then rounded

38% increase

 You can also divide the new price by the old price.  The answer is 1.376.  Round to the nearest 100th  (1.38).  This means the new price is 138% of the old price, or a 38% increase.   
What I don't understand is when I divide the old price by the new price and get .726, which tells me the old price is 73% of the new price, which would lead me to believe the new price is 27% higher than the old price.  
 

Sounds like an airline ticket.
