A friend of mine years ago had a lot of trouble with that . It gave her  a bad uterine --vaginal infection to the point that she had to have surgery. She had a couple kids, but after that trouble , she couldn't have anymore. Can't beleive yours has been in for 16 years. Go to a GYN  ASAP.

Haven't you had a pap smear done?  You could have all kinds of really ugly stuff going on in there.  Like michmar118 says:  I am afraid to speculate.
