I had a bad experience at the ottawa hospital civic campus
proper care was not administered .I have what is called a neo bladder made from my small intestine and it should be flushed every 4 to 6 hours. I had this neo bladder installed in 2005 and I was able to empty my bladder by timing myself In 2006 when I had a hernia repair After this operation is when my problems started. After the hernia operation the nurse didn't check the catheter for 23 hours after a catheter was inserted. As a result of this incompentance.I am left having to catheterize myself 4 times daily for the rest of my life, as the neo-bladder was severely compromized from being so stretched. Is there no recourse in this sort of situation?
