I simply responded to my eset security that said there were updates available for my computor and I downloaded what was supposed to be some internet explorer update. What the heck is all this new crap on my start up page. I don't trust facebook, etc so I don't use it, why therefore, is it prominently placed on the top right hand corner. How do I get rid of all this?

Sounds like they updated you to IE9. Check out this video http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Getting-started-with-Internet-Explorer-9
** This is the answer to a question you left on another person's question concerning the Bing toolbar. ...Try clicking on View, see the list of tool bars you have installed and see if Conduit engine is there. If it is, click it one time to remove the check mark. This will deactivate it.
