If you are talking about Word in Microsoft 2007 I am sure there is a way to set up default but I have not figured it out at work yet.  Each time I have to open a new page select first no spacing, then select font and I usually like full justification because if you change your font first and then choose no spacing (which in actuality is single spacing go figure) then it will change your font back to another font hope this helps I have too much going on at work to have time to really figure out how to change my defaults the way I want my page to always be, but they are talking about upgrading our systems now so I figure why bother at this point.  But I hope that helps you.
