    I'm looking to purchase a scanner for my investigation office in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Can you recommend a scanner for our local area?  We'll be monitoring the locale Police, Fire, etc.?


     


    Would like to be under $1,000.00 and possible a portable if it can work as good as the plug in models for a desk.
