No, you could not use a hand held cellphone in your cmv. Now DOT has put a new restriction and fines on use your cells phone without a hands free device. The are very high and you could lose your CDL after two violations.

LOL, I'm a truck driver but I've never seen cmv... commercial motor vehicle I guess is what cmv stands for. You are correct. CDL drivers are not exempt from the hands free rule and they never have been.
