I enlisted July 1952 for the Korean show. After recruit traing I was posted to Royal Australian Artillery in the Anti Aircraft roll.
Rose to the dizzy heights of Sergeant. But you and I know the NCOs and Warrant Officers run the army.
We used to say a private knew every thing and did every thing, A Corporal knew nothing and told the privates what to do.
A sergeant knew nothing and did nothing and a Officer was a Sergeant promoted for efficency.

Sounds about right! I was a Corporal of Horse (CoH) a sergeant in other Regiments. The Hosehold Cavalry (Blues & Royals) do not have sergeants they are called CoH's. Also the Blues & Royals is the only Regiment in the British Army that can salute without a headress - a battle honour from the battle of Warburg. The Blues & Royals (then known as the Royal Horseguards) was formed in 1661 by the Earl of Oxford on the orders of Oliver Cromwell to get rid of king Charles. Great history!

Nice Pics ED. Lovely girls too.

165,000 miles near as damn it Ed.

Just for interest i owned a Toyota Hi Lux 4x4 several years ago & clocked up an amazing 380,000 miles (not km) on the origional engine. Same here, it was regularly serviced with oil & filter changed every 7 - 8,000 miles.
