Do not for any reason feed your turtle hamburger meat. Turtles can't digest beef and this ends up in their feces undigested and can give you salmonella poisoning. Not good for you or the turtle.
A lot of turtles like peas and lettuce, some will even eat goldfish (feeder goldfish or comets). What ever you do, if the food is not eaten take it out. Keep your turtle's water very clean.
Don't forget vitamins and calcium blocks. Also make sure that your turtle has the appropriate lighting. These things are as important as a balanced diet (which is in high quality turtle pellets).
Turtle pellets are the cleanest way to feed your turtle.
