      (x^4 + 4) (x^4 - 4)  


                        (x^2 + 2) (x^2 - 2)


      (x^4 + 4) (x^2 + 2) (x^2 - 2)


      THINK FOIL     >  F > FIRST   >  x^4 * x^2 * x^2   =   x^8


                                    O > OUTER >  x^4 * 2 * - 2         = - 4x^4


                                     I  > INNER   >  4 * x^2 * x^2       =  4x^4


                                    L  >  Last   >   4 * 2 * - 2               =  - 16


      - 4x^4 and 4x^4 cancels out.  Leaving, x^8 - 16
