    why do we celebrate the independence day

    If you mean the United States, independence day is celebrated because our colonists were able to fight the English rule and free this land from bondage to King George III of England. Read a history book.

    I have no qualms with either George or Elizabeth. I never had to live under George's rule and Elizabeth has nothing to do with my everyday living. I love England and it's rich history. I have friends there whom I hopefully will meet someday if I can ever make it over.
