    what can i do to make a burn less painful

    Ouch.  Of course there are ointments over the counter at the drug store but I personally use Aloe from the Aloe Plant.  I keep one on my windowsill at all times.  Ice cold water will sooth it but watch out when you take it out.  It burns even worse.  So, there are ointments, aloe, and ice water. 

    Hold it under cool running water, maybe apply ice.  It will be soothed for the while, otherwise, just tolerate it until it stops on it's own....

    Pull off a leaf from an Aloe plant. Rub it on the burn. Instantly the pain is gone.

    ice,cold water. if is too bad,2nd degree,(blistering) go to doc. 

    ointments  after the water and ice........then it takes time........be patient..........

    Regular toothpaste provides instant relief.
