A pronoun is a generic word that substitutes for a proper noun. Instead of saying something like,
"Bob is walking Bob's dog this morning. After Bob return's from the walk, Bob will shower and eat breakfast. Bob likes to read the newspaper before Bob leaves for work. Bob's assignment is "new accounts" at the Lookalu Casino." (you get the idea)
Using pronouns: "Bob is walking his dog this morning. After he returns from the walk, he will shower and eat breakfast. He likes to read the newspaper before he leaves for work His assignment is "new accounts" at the Lookalu Casino."
