Is bobtailing off duty a violation of logs if it takes more time than what is on 70 hour clock?

Yes if you are bob tailing for the company you work for. Your log applies only to your job and not to your free time away from your job. But if you are bob tailing for another company, then your log is added to the logged hours of the other company.
