I think that this is done in...Texas?...not sure but some of our other members would know.  I saw it done on TV in a gigantic deep fryer and as Benthere said, can be very dangerous, if you don't know what you are doing. It looked absolutely delicious when they pulled it out of the fryer!!  yummmm

Wow Colleen a Propane Turkey Fryer and how cheap is that and its free shipping thank you colleen oxooxoxo

We had deep fried turkey today. It was cooked in a propane powered  turkey deepfryer. The turkey goes in a basket and is lowered in hot oil. Very slowly lowered! It cooked in about 45 minutes for a 12lb. bird! It was excellent!

a deep fried turkey is very good! we will have one today. Thankfully we don't have to do the cooking!

    Eewwww dowsa!!!

Turkey frying instructions are everywhere on the web.  Who knew?  Some people say that a fried turkey is very dry and they prefer the old fashioned "baked in the oven" method, though deep frying it, is much quicker.

Not true. Fried turkey is very moist that's why it's become so popular. If anyone had dry fried turkey, it's because the person who cooked it didn't know what they were doing. I've had fried turkey and it really is the best. I however will never buy the fryer and attempt to cook it myself. It's too dangerous for amateurs.

Okay, so somebody (one of you) buy this, try it, and let the rest of us know all about it!

I couldn't believe my eyes last night, after all of our fried turkey discussions.  I turned on the tv and guess what they were selling on one of the shopping channels?  A turkey fryer...electric, indoor, all removeable parts for cleaning, guaranteed safe, a fill line mark, a heavy duty lid for safety and complete instructions...just plug it in and away you go!  It looked great!  hmmmm

sounds good to me too, I love turkey but we don't have it often, and hard to find here except for frozen

Not sure about frying turkey, but I once bout 4 turkey cookers off Danoz on late night T.V advertising, I was a bit dangerous (not to mention brain dead) on nightshift before they got foxtel, I still have about 10 years supply of mineral make up and anything else I could manage to buy to keep myself awake.

There is a link to barbecue turkeys here.....http://www.ive-got-gas-grill.com
